Pure Abodes, II - VI
This small series of works, created in a combined technique (watercolor, acrylic, and marker) in 2022, is the result of exploring the concept of "Pure Abodes" as it appears in Eastern philosophies and religions. "Pure Abodes" symbolize ideal, pure states of consciousness and existence as a divine landscape where conditions are ideal for achieving enlightenment. Visually the works in this series explore the harmony between desolate horizons and vegetation which seems to struggle for survival. This sparse vegetation sends roots deep into the space and grows through all elements symbolizing an ongoing struggle for life and existence in an environment that is both desolate and contemplative and through this effort, constant growth follows.
